Low-res preview; here's the real deal.
What's the very first game you've ever played on a computer? Mine was International Football on C64. Back in 1988, my brothers and I had discussed - or maybe begged? - getting a computer for Christmas. I do remember we went back and forth between getting a NES or a C64 and in the end decided that a keyboard was essential because a real computer could do so much more. Anyway, long story short, a brand new "Commodore 64 Supergames" box was waiting for us under the Christmas tree and we couldn't wait to hook it up again. Again, you say? Yes, we already knew we were getting one anyway and of course our angle was that it was essential to test it right after they brought it home and with that we had a couple of "test sessions" in the weeks leading up to the 24th.
So, what's that "Supergames" on the C64's box you ask? A cartridge that hat the following three games:
Of course, International Football was our game of choice for I don't know how many rounds and we loved every single second of it.
With my collection of over 700 games it feels strange that it took me three and a half decades to add a boxed copy of the first computer game that I've played but what can I say, better late than never.
